My activity

Such a man is Dragan Djordjevic, a Serbian married to a Romanian woman who learned to appreciate the culture of the country in which he lives together with his wife and 9 years old daughter, Milita.
And Dragan Djordjevic adds: “I work with great art lovers and experts from the business environment, from the political world, from the artistical world. I have here works signed by Theodor Pallady, Stefan Luchian, Gheorghe Petrascu, Nicolae Grigorescu. All the works are examined and I managed to collaborate with well-known eperts.”
And in “Flacara” in 2004 in an article named “The exceptional art collection of Dragan Djordjevic”, Adrian Martalogu asks the collector: “-How did you manage to become so famous in this world of art and to preserve a name?”
“-The key of my success is the seriousness with which I work with the deponents as well as with the buyers. We work very hard, we visit the deponents a lot.”
“-Do you wish to open a new art gallery, continues Adrian Martalogu with the questions. Is it different from the present one?”
“-I wish to open a select gallery, to copy, so to say, the galleries from Louvre and from Rome.
My duty as gallery owner is to build something good. Like art like country. I wish to continue this gallery, to protect the exhibits but also the buyer. It will be a gallery with closed circuit. Only selected people will enter … Manny VIP will enter.”
The name of Dragan Djordjevic recently made himself remarked also in native Serbia where the magazine “HOLLYWOOD, na kafici” published an eulogistic article in which was reproduced a photo of him and the famous actor Sootherland, exemplifying and underlining his relations with the culture people.
We sometimes talk leisurely; he likes to spin memories. He doesn’t complain about the difficulties but he finds strange the malices of the competition. He is very thrilled about the support of the wife who stimulates him to collect only what is valuable and who demonstrated to be very good in knowing art.
A historical moment in his biography is considered the visit to Rome, in Vatican, at the Pope, reaching in front of him to hear him talk. It seemed a moment of soul and Christian elevation and he left having much more courage to face life with its difficulties. He is quick in decision-making, generous when it is the case, moderate or penurious when he doesn’t like something.
Except for the artists and critics he has friends that he consults often and from the gallery owners and collectors we can remember Parsoaga or Grinberg.
The notion of collector comprises a variety of preoccupations and specializations. As they are registered in the Society of the Art Collectors from Romania there are collectors of watches, wine labels, coins and stamps, medieval objects, books, sculptures and paintings.
But also the paintings collectors are also diversified some collect paintings of Pallady or Lucian Grigorescu, of Piulita or Augustin Constantinescu.
Dragan Djordjevic, collector of the paintings of Harry Guttman is more complex and more extended in the field of art. He collects what is valuable or selections, he sells what he can make a profit from and sometimes gets rid of the unwelcome people or of the ones who annoy him with weak, insignificantthings.
In lack of some clear juridical laws concerning the author rights, of the difference between the original and fakes, Dragan Djordjevic manifests prudently in buying and selling the works of art. He verifies by experts the authenticity of the authors and helped by them he feels “specialist” in recognizing the values and he buys only when the object deserves t be collected or offered to the buyer. He understood what separates an artist from another and he intuits with the capacity of distinguishing the values, what is worth and what has perspectives in the impetuous and apparently unknown course of the development of art in the 2151 century.

This way Dragan Djordjevic got to be a new type collector, a modern one who main merit is to be a competent art animator, a simulator of the creation of the artists.
